Jobs
The factory system during the Industrial Revolution played a vital role. As the number of factories grew so did the population. Even though the conditions in the factories were merciless they produced many products such as cotton, silk, and textile. As production increased, clothing dropped in price and the working class was able to afford them. More jobs were available so people could begin to bring home more family income. The common jobs during the revolution were agriculture, manufacturing and farming. For children the most common jobs that were available were chimney sweepers they would clean chimneys hence the name. Another job that was common for kids were street cleaners they would clean the roads, clean up after horse manure and mud. Children could also become street sellers they sold products like flowers, lace and muffins. As new technology was created farming wasn’t as popular. Since the agricultural revolution people moved more to the cities looking for jobs in factories and manufacturing.
